Badenoch is a comfortable purpose built self-catering centre which can sleep 40 people in mainly four bedded and two bedded bunk rooms plus two twin bedded rooms. There is good access and bathroom facilities for disabled users.

The kitchen is large and well equipped, while the open plan dining and lounge area makes for a friendly and informal atmosphere. A table tennis room and drying room complement the facilities.

There is an adjacent hall which may be used for badminton and other indoor games.

Activities

The centre makes an excellent base for outdoor activities; close by there is pony trekking, mountain biking , orienteering and walking,, while at Loch Insh just a mile away there is sailing, canoeing and windsurfing, with professional tuition available. The Cairngorm and Monadhliath mountains offer excellent walking at any time of year and the winter months give skiing on Cairngorm just a few miles away. The centre has ski hire for beginners and intermediate skiers.

Some people come to Badenoch just to relax and enjoy the peace, and there are lovely places for gentle strolls, fishing and bird watching.

Attractions

There are a number of tourist and educational attractions within easy reach by car, including the Highland Wildlife Park, Working Sheepdogs, Highland Folk Museum, Cairngorm funicular railway Landmark visitor centre, while Culloden Battlefield, Cawdor Castle and Loch Ness are reached in an hour.

Possibilities

Groups and individuals may stay in the centre and ‘do their own thing’, or we can help shape a programme if requested. We are also happy to share with specific Christian input if invited to.
